Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Rochester area and other sections of Minnesota enjoyed record warmth on Saturday.

The National Weather Service says the mercury rose to 71-degrees at the Rochester Airport shortly after 2 p.m., edging the previous record high for November 5th from 1893 when the temperature reached 70-degrees. The high hit 71 in La Crosse as well, toppling a record from 1924. The Twin Cities also recorded a new record high for the date with an afternoon peak of 73-degrees at the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport

In this region, Austin and Winona both hit 70-degrees, but those readings were slightly below the record readings for the date.

Forecasters are predicting another gorgeous fall day on Sunday with sunny skies and highs approaching 70-degrees.
