Rochester, MN (KROC AM News)  - A Rochester man who was linked to several burglaries and attempted break-ins has been sent to prison.  

26-year-old Janarie Payton was apprehended last October after he entered a Rochester home and ran off with a purse while being chased by the homeowner. That same night he tried to break into two other homes and was caught by police hiding in the garage of one of the homes.

He was later accused of being involved in two earlier burglaries, one in Rochester and the other in Byron. He was also linked to a business burglary in Rochester.

Payton has been sentenced to around 8 years in prison and ordered to pay $3,100 restitution.
