Rochester, MN  (KROC AM News) - A trial involving the five-year long legal battle between Rochester and Rochester City Lines is scheduled to begin Monday.

RCL sued after losing its contract to provide public transit services to the city. During the court trial being held in Winona, the company will try to prove the city’s bidding process was biased. RCL is expected to call several city officials to the witness stand as it attempts to convince the court the bidding process was biased against the company

Earlier this month, the state Appeals Court nullified the city’s current contract with First Transit, handing RCL a victory. The appellate court ruled the mere appearance of the potential of bias on the selection committee invalidates the bidding process used by the city.
