Every morning, one of the first things that I do is grab a cup of coffee.  My family even knows that it is probably best to hold off on any serious (or non-serious) questions until I get that first sip.  I'm not alone in this.  75% of people drink coffee at least once a week.

But what if that first sip wasn't possible?

That could soon be the reality for an organization in Rochester, Minnesota.

Urgent Need for Coffee at the Gift of Life Transplant House in Rochester, Minnesota

Coffee might be an acquired taste for some but for those of us who love it, we are reaping from all of the health benefits.  Some of the benefits coffee attributes to includes lower risk of depression, protect against liver conditions, and even support brain health.  For many though, it is a symbol of comfort and "home".

When people think of Rochester, Minnesota, most immediately recognize the name because of Mayo Clinic.  It is everywhere...you can't miss it!  But in our town are many organizations and businesses that exist to help those who come to this town for medical help.  The Ronald McDonald House on 2nd Street has 70 rooms for families who need a home away from home.  And just down the street from that house is another providing similar care for transplant patients and caregivers - The Gift of Life Transplant House.

The Gift of Life Transplant House, located at 705 2nd Street SW and 724 2nd Street SW in Rochester, started as an eight-bedroom home in 1984.  Quite a bit of growth has happened since that day and today, it is the largest transplant hospitality house in the nation with 84 guest rooms.

A home away from home is here, at the Gift of Life Transplant House, for those who need it.  And this place provides moments of comfort during a time when it is needed most.  And a warm cup of coffee is one of those touches.

Unfortunately, the coffee supply is getting low and an urgent SOS was sent out asking for help:

We are in need of coffee! Many of our guests and caregivers love waking up and drinking a cup of coffee, and our supply is running low! We would greatly appreciate coffee grounds and Keurig pods!  We prefer the classics like Folgers coffee, or even hot chocolate! - Gift of Life Transplant House

If you can help with a bag of coffee or some Keurig pods, you'll help make that touch of comfort happen for the guests at the Gift of Life Transplant House.  Drop the coffee off or buy it on Amazon and have it shipped to the house at 705 2nd Street SW, Rochester, Minnesota, 55902.
