Washington, DC (KROC AM News) - A new report shows construction workers in the Rochester area are making way more than the national average.

The report shows the adjusted median annual wage for all construction workers in the Rochester metropolitan area is $60,279.

That’s lower than the median in Duluth ($65,200) and St. Cloud ($62,900). The report shows the Minnesota average is $60,913, the third-highest of all states.

Construction workers in Illinois are the highest paid with a median adjusted wage of $71,111, compared to a low of $38,151 in Florida. 

According to 2019 data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, construction workers earn a national median of $47,430 per year, which is about 19 percent more than the median wage of $39,810 for all occupations.
