Rochester Man Admits to Federal Firearm Charge
Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News) - A traffic crash last year has led to a federal conviction for a Rochester man.
The U.S. Attorney for Minnesota says 38-year-old Lorenzo Heard of Rochester entered a guilty plea last week to one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm. He was barred from owning or possessing guns due to his extensive criminal history, which includes convictions for armed robbery, assault, and dealing drugs.
The federal charge was filed against Heard after he crashed a vehicle on May 1, 2018. Police reports indicated he fled the scene but left behind a loaded semi-automatic pistol. Later that same month, Heard was arrested and charged with stabbing a man in the chest and back outside a Rochester apartment building.
His sentencing hearing for the federal conviction has not been scheduled.
