Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man has entered guilty pleas to felony charges stemming from two criminal investigations. 23-year-old Yiep Lam admitted to a third-degree assault charge and first-degree aggravated robbery on Friday and is scheduled to be sentenced for both convictions on January 7th.

He was arrested in September after he was accused of an incident involving a 17-year-old who had agreed to a late night meeting with Lam near Gage School. The police reports say Lam was starting to drive away in the teenager’s car, but the victim managed to get back into his vehicle and was fighting for control of it when the car crashed into a building.

Lam was later linked to a robbery and assault that occurred about a week earlier. In that case, Lam was accused of forcing a man to withdraw money from an ATM after telling the victim he had a gun. After taking the victim’s money, Lam was accused of kicking and hitting the man after knocking him to the ground.

He is scheduled to be sentenced in both cases on January 7th.
