A blood test showed his blood/alcohol concentration was nearly .17. He pleaded guilty to felony DUI in January.

Heintzman was also given a 5 ½ year sentence for a DUI case in 2015. After he was told to leave a downtown Rochester bar, Heintzman got into his car and started crashing into several parked vehicles. Some police officers on foot patrol heard the noise and tried to stop Heintzman and one was hurt after being struck by his car.
