Rochester Man Sentenced For Conspiracy to Distribute Meth

St. Paul (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for his role in a conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.

Prosecutors say 38-year-old Nicholas Hanson was part of a conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine from June 2019 to August 2019. Hanson coordinated and facilitated the delivery of methamphetamine on behalf of the conspiracy leader, John Netherton, also known as “Big John” and “Wicked One.”

Hanson pleaded guilty in August of 2020 and was sentenced Friday to 180 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release. He was the last conspiracy member to be sentenced.

Previously sentenced conspiracy members include:

• Jacob Williams was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison and five years of supervised release in August 2020.
• Miguel Zamora was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison and two years of supervised release in August 2020.
• Netherton was sentenced to over 21 years (260 months) in federal prison and five years of supervised release in May 2021.
• Jason Hoffman was sentenced to 11 years in federal prison and five years of supervised release in June 2021.
• Andrew Berndt was sentenced to over 8 years (102 months) in federal prison and five years of supervised release in June 2021.
• Deja Benton was sentenced to seven years in federal prison and five years of supervised release in July 2021.
• Joshua Sazo was sentenced to five years in federal prison and two years supervised release in August 2021.
• Kayleigh Todd was sentenced to over three years (40 months) in federal prison and five years of supervised release in June 2022.
