Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man has been sentenced to 68-months in prison for robbing a local convenience store earlier this year. 24-year-old Dezmon Johnson earlier pleaded guilty to a first-degree aggravated robbery for the January 19th holdup at Jeff’s Little Store in Marion. Johnson was arrested about an hour after Olmsted County deputies were called to the business and were told the robber had fled from the scene in a pickup truck with a little over $200 after brandished what turned out to be a pellet gun.

While he was being pursued, Johnson ditched the vehicle and then broke into a garage at a rural southeast Rochester home in an unsuccessful bid to avoid arrest. The pellet gun and the cash were recovered at the scene.
