Get Ready to Jump! The Polar Plunge is Back in Rochester in 2026
While the water may be colder than most refrigerators, the shock from the frigid temps is over fast. Here's the perk - you don't have to be an athlete for this event. You just need to be brave (or easily peer-pressured).
Those 15 seconds of plunging into cold water is worth it - it shows that you care about the Special Olympics athletes in our state, which is such a heart-warming message for people in our community.
I've had a chance to walk around and talk with the participants at past Polar Plunge events in Rochester, and one thing that is repeated constantly is this...
"you HAVE to jump, it is so much fun!"
A few individuals pointed out that the hot tubs after the jump are a great perk, too. Overall, everyone I spoke with were just excited to make a difference in our community in such a fun way.
