Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A man described as homeless has been causing problems in downtown Rochester in recent days and is now a suspect in vandalism at the Mayo Civic Center.

Police say several electrical outlets, doorbell cameras, and other items on the exterior of the civic center were broken or damaged. Some nondescript messages written in blood were also found on a door.

Based on surveillance video, it happened last Friday around 3 in the morning. The preliminary damage estimate has been put at $1,000.

The man suspected of causing the damage has also been linked to a recent assault and other criminal activity in the downtown. As of Tuesday morning, his whereabouts were unknown.
