Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) -  Rochester police investigators are hoping to hear from anyone who may have witnessed a traffic incident earlier this month near St Francis Church.

Police Capt. John Sherwin says the incident happened around 3:30 PM on Jan 12th.

Sherwin says a man was just beginning to walk his child through the intersection of 4th St and 11th Ave SE when an SUV nearly hit them while the driver was making a turn. Sherwin says when the driver stopped, the man tried to take a picture of the vehicle. That’s when the driver moved forward, knocked the man to the ground and drove away. The man was not hurt. He later told police he thought he heard someone yell they had recorded video of the incident but has yet to hear from the person.

Sherwin says the driver of the SUV was later located and has denied striking the man.
