Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Rochester School Board will meet this afternoon to discuss and vote on the school district's plans for starting the new school year.

Superintendent Michael Munoz made the proposal public on Friday to allow the public to weigh in on the issue before it's taken up by the school board. Today's online meeting is scheduled to convene at 5 PM and will be live-streamed on the school district's YouTube Channel.

The plan calls for elementary students and those enrolled in the Lincoln K-8 program to use a hybrid schedule. It will have them in class two days each week and using distance learning the other three days. Middle school and high school students will begin the school year using distance learning full-time.

The district proposal does allow medically vulnerable students or others with concerns about in-person learning to opt for full-time distance learning.
