Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) – A Rochester woman is facing a murder charge connected to a fatal drug overdose.

Police say 52-year-old Michelle Williams has admitted selling some heroin to 32-year-old Matthew Klaus March 29th. He was found dead the next day and an autopsy has listed the cause of death as “acute heroin and fentanyl toxicity. “

The criminal complaint charging Williams with 3rd-degree murder says police were using Klaus as an informant to buy heroin from the woman. When interviewed after his death, Williams told police she had sold Klaus heroin “about 100 times. “ Police say her admission came before she was told he had died.

Williams is suspected of being a long-time drug dealer in Rochester.

Her conditional bail was set at $200,000 during her Friday arraignment and she has been ordered back to court for another hearing July 3rd.
