Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A man who was checking on a job near Rochester’s Apache Mall Monday returned to his pickup truck to discover the vehicle was being driven away by a woman.

The man had left the truck running in front of a residence in the 900 block of 11th St SW around 5 p.m. When he saw it driving down the street, he ran after it for a few blocks. The man then flagged down a passing motorist and they followed the stolen truck.

The woman finally stopped at the People’s Food Co-op site near Soldiers Field Park. The owner reached in and grabbed the keys. He prevented the woman from leaving until officers arrived.

The woman - 52-year old Andrea Lloyd of Rochester - told the officers she decided to take the truck because it was raining and she had no ride home.
