Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester woman was injured after her car collided with a logging truck at a rural intersection Monday.

The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office says 87-year-old Phyllis Jacobs was driving on 55th Ave NE around 9:45 AM Monday when the wreck occurred.

Jacobs told deputies she saw the truck that was on 48th St start sliding into the intersection but she could not avoid the collision. The truck was driven by 48-year-old Marvin Sawyer of Elgin. He told deputies he tried to stop but slid into the intersection. He was given a ticket for failing to yield.
