The holiday season is now officially upon us now that the lights on the Salvation Army's Sharing Tree at Apache Mall have been turned on. The tree lighting event took place Friday night in the JC Penney Courtyard at Apache Mall.

Major James Frye of the Salvation Army welcomed everyone and the Salvation Army Band played festival Christmas songs in the courtyard.

Kim Bradley, Randy Brock and yours truly were there to represent Sharing Tree sponsors, Apache Mall, KTTC-TV and Townsquare Media.

Now it's your turn. You can help make the holidays brighter by making a donation to the Salvation Army Sharing Tree at Apache Mall. Just drop off any new, unwrapped gift at the tree for an area child or teen in need. Toys, games, books, clothes or gift certificates make great donations. The gifts will be distributed through the Salvation Army's Toy & Joy Shop December 22nd and 23rd. Volunteers are needed for that two day event at the Salvation Army's Community Center.

The Salvation Army Sharing Tree at Apache Mall has been a holiday tradition for over 40 years and has helped countless families and children in our area have a very Merry Christmas each and every year.
