Sex Offender From Hastings Sentenced in Federal Child Porn Case

Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News) - A registered sex offender from Hastings has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for a federal child pornography conviction.

42-year-old Paul Axelson earlier pleaded guilty to a single count of receipt of child pornography stemming from an investigation in 2016 that led to the discovery of over 160,000 child porn images and videos stored on his computer. Federal prosecutors say Axelson used file serving software to download, collect and distribute sexually explicit photos and videos depicting children.

He was on probation for a 2008 criminal sexual conduct conviction at the time.
