Austin, MN (KROC-AM News) - Austin police are working to identify two people seen running away from the scene of a shooting Thursday morning.

A news release says Austin police officers and Mower County Sheriff's deputies responded to reports of gunshots in the 800 block of 6th Avenue Southeast in Austin around 5 AM. They were told by the occupants of a home that a number of shots had entered their house and investigators then found six bullet holes in the home and six 9mm shell casings in a nearby yard.

There were two adults, a 27-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman, along with two young children, a 9-year-old girl and a 3-year-old boy, in the home at the time. None of them were injured. The man and woman living in the home told police they knew of no one who would target them.

Austin police say witnesses saw two suspects running through the area at the time and leaving in a white or silver SUV. They were described as tall and skinny and wearing blue jeans. One of the suspects had a light blue sweatshirt on while the other was wearing an orange sweatshirt. The police report indicates both had their hoods up and no other physical descriptions are available.
