Many of us call Valentine's Day National Singles awareness day. You never realize how single you are until you have nothing to do on Valentine's day. A few years ago, I decided that I wasn't going to stay at home and be sad on National Single as a Pringle day, so I went on an adventure alone. Here are some ideas on how you can spend Valentine's Day in Minnesota if you don't have someone special in your life right now.

1. Have a party with all of your single friends

You probably have a few single friends that feel the same way you do. You can always throw a party with them at someone's house. This way you aren't alone and can have some fun with folks that are in the same position as you.

2. Go to the movies

It can be hard to do things alone, but going to the movies alone is actually fun. You can enjoy the movie without having someone touching you, stilling your popcorn or drinking your soda.

3. Have your own Movie Night

Staying at home can be just as fun. Put on your pajamas, have some junk food and put on some Netflix for a perfect night.

4. Head to the Twin Cities for Events

Good news... there are a few singles parties going on up in the Twin Cities. One of them is a singles dance party. This might be a good way to meet someone!

5. Order a Heart-shaped Pizza

Some of the pizza restaurants do heart-shaped pizzas for Valentine's day. There is no shame in ordering one for yourself and eating it by yourself.

6. Take a class

There is plenty of painting, cooking and art classes around that are offering event that night. Get a group of friends together and go have some fun!

There are plenty of things to keep you busy on National Singles Awareness Day. Just know you are loved and it's only a day.
