With all the missing person reports coming out of Iowa over the last few weeks, it's frightening to hear the tale of a Texas woman walking along a bike path near a rest-stop allegedly being abducted.

The Mankato Free Press reports that on Friday night a woman from Corpus Christi, Texas, was walking south on a bike trail from a rest area near town when she alleges that a man assaulted her near a rest area before trying to pull her into the woods in Blue Earth. The victim told authorities that she fought the suspect off before calling for help.

The suspect was described as a white male between 5 foot 11 inches and 6 feet tall with sandy blonde hair. The man also had numerous tattoos, including a scorpion on his right forearm. He was last seen wearing a red t-shirt and khaki shorts. The suspect was last seen on the trail that connects Blue Earth to the eastbound rest area along I-90.

Authorities continue to investigate the claim and ask that anyone in the area who saw anything suspicious to notify the Faribault County Sheriff's Office.

Over the last 12 days, over 40 people were reported missing in the State of Iowa. Many of the missing are teens and authorities indicate they more than likely left on their own accord.
