Mankato, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Minnesota State Patrol held a news conference in Mankato on Friday to introduce a citizen hero.

The State Patrol launched a social media campaign Wednesday in an effort to identify the motorist who sprang into action to assist a state trooper in rescuing the driver of a semi truck that burst into flames after crashing into the back of another truck in Windom on Monday. The Good Samaritan got back into his car and drove away before the trooper to get his name.

Paul Langseth indicated he contacted the State Patrol on Thursday after he was told that he was being sought. The unassuming Worthington man spoke at the news conference and downplayed his heroism by saying “It needed to be done. I’d like to think anyone else would do the same.”
