Statewide Alert for Level 3 Sex Offender

St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Minnesota Department of Corrections has posted a statewide alert for a Level 3 sex offender.

66-year-old Douglas Peterson was released from prison in November 2014 and was under intensive supervised release. He was classified a fugitive earlier this week when he went missing from his residence in Minneapolis.

Officials say Peterson has ties to a number of other communities in Minnesota, including Blooming Prairie and Hayfield.

He is described as white with brown hair and blue eyes, 6 feet tall, and weighing about 180 pounds. His criminal history involves convictions for criminal sexual conduct against juvenile boys.

The Department of Corrections is asking anyone with information about his location to call 911 report his whereabouts.
