According to the criminal complaint, 20-year-old Cole Thielen got into an argument with a 42-year-old man. A female roommate of the victim said Thielen grabbed a knife and began yelling “I’m going to kill you” as he stabbed the other man in the left arm and mouth.

The criminal complaint indicated the victim suffered a large amount of blood before he was driven to St. Marys Hospital by the roommate. At last report, he was in critical condition.

According to the complaint:

“ Initial reports from hospital staff indicated that Victim suffered large cuts to his lip and tongue, as well as a cut and large open fracture to his left arm. The cuts to Victim's lip and tongue were severe and needed to be sewn shut. Permanent disfigurement to Victim's mouth is likely.”

Thielen was apprehended several hours after the assault. He is also accused of sending threatening messages to the roommate, before and after the assault.

During Monday’s arraignment, Thielen’s bail was set at $500,000.
