Stolen Vehicle Crashes in Southwest Rochester Neighborhood
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester woman was arrested on suspicion of DUI early Tuesday morning after crashing a pickup truck in the Memorial Parkway neighborhood, just north of Apache Mall.
A patrol officer ran a license plate check of the vehicle around 1:45 after noticing a taillight was out. The officer discovered the truck had been stolen Monday morning in Stewartville. Before the officer could pull the truck over, the driver took off at a high rate of speed, turning left off 4th Street and onto 8th Ave. SW.
A short while later, the officer found the pickup had rolled at the intersection of 8th Avenue and 11th Street SW. Arrested was 22 year old Sophia Forsman, the suspected driver. She was also suspected of being under the influence.
There were two male passengers in the vehicle and one was taken into custody after it was learned a warrant had been issued for his arrest due to a probation violation.
It appears the truck was totaled.
Court records show Forsman was ticketed last Thursday for driving after revocation.
