San Jose, Costa Rica (KROC-AM News) - Costa Rica’s Judicial Investigative Police have reported the arrest of a 25-year-old man as the prime suspect in the murder of a former Stewartville woman.

According to ICR News in Costa Rica, the law enforcement agency in the Central American nation has indicated the suspect was caught in possession of items belonging to 45-year-old Sondra Elizondo. The 1988 graduate of Stewartville High School was found dead from multiple stab wounds in a hotel room in San Jose on Wednesday.

Elizondo was the director and co-founder Vida Volunteers and often travel to Costa Rica in connection with her work for the charitable organization.
