Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man has been sentenced to nearly 8 years in prison for his conviction on a drug charge.

42-year-old Desmond Reeder entered into a plea agreement Thursday in Olmsted County court by pleading guilty to a second-degree drug sale charge. He also admitted to an unrelated DWI charge, while a prostitution charge was dropped.

The drug charge against Reeder stemmed from an incident in August of last year, while the prostitution case was connected to his arrest in March, when he was described by Rochester police as a suspected pimp. In that case, Reeder was accused of trafficking a 36-year-old woman from Fairmont.

He was scheduled to stand trial in the drug and prostitution cases next week.
