It was the United Way’s Big BOLD Celebration of Caring and Giving. I had the pleasure of emceeing with Danielle Teal, a fantastic stage partner. A real pro and giving soul. It was big and bold and loud and fun and truly felt like a celebration. Not only was it a successful campaign, but the donations increased by about 3% over last year!

The Cutest Dancers in Rochester were part of the fun. But, I'm doing a disservice if I let you think they're only cute. A United Way partnership, Heart of Dance teaches self-confidence, self-expression, joyful movement, elegance, mental focus and physical exercise. These students from Gage Elementary were fun to watch as they did the swing and tango. They also reminded us of the vital role social interaction, activity, and education play making sure we can all Live: Strong.

I want to give a quick shout-out to Joanne Rosener, the winner of the Maude Finch Award. I've known Joanne since she was chair of the Channel One Regional Food Bank board, back in the 90's. She showed me how much fun being on a board can be, and it started a lifelong devotion to both volunteering my energy on projects, AND on boards to do the background work, too. Please know, Rochester is richer for her hard work, passion, and focus.

Also, because of her, I got to meet the former First Lady, Barbara Bush.
