Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The City of Rochester and the Destination Medical Center Economic Development Agency have scheduled a special meeting next week to hear from three potential operators for the historic Château Theater during its initial use phase.

The three finalists: Entourage Events Group, Exhibits Development Group, and Arts Trust of Minnesota were chosen from the 5 proposals that were submitted to the city earlier this year. The city is looking for an organization to manage the operations of the theater while the planning for an overall renovation and restoration of the venue continue. The Rochester City Council and the DMC Corporation Board have approved $1.1 million to make some initial repairs and upgrades to the Château that will allow it to be used for smaller events and gatherings pending the start of what is expected to be a multimillion-dollar renovation project.

Deputy City Administrator Aaron Parrish says, “We greatly appreciate the effort put forth by all five groups in preparing the request for proposal. Each proposal has a unique perspective and approach to operating and managing the Historic Chateau Theatre in this initial phase. We invite and encourage the community to attend the public presentation on April 25. There will be opportunities to engage and give feedback as the City Council moves toward a selection.”

The special meeting is scheduled to take place from 5 until 7 PM on April 25th. A statement from the city indicates the Rochester City Council is expected to select the operator sometime next month.
