Three Minnesota Restaurants on ’50 Best Burgers in America’ List

If you like a good burger (and who doesn't?) you can find three of the 50 Best Burgers in America right here in Minnesota.
That's the word, anyway from a new list from the travel site, Travioso. If you haven't heard of them (and I know I hadn't before I saw this list), they describe themselves as an organization that "highlights the very best food, culture, excursions, and things to do in inspiring travel destinations across the globe."
With that in mind, the crew at Travioso set out to find the 50 Best Burgers here in the U S of A. And, when you think about it, there is a LOT of competition because it seems like just about EVERY restaurant out there serves some kind of burger, right? So what makes THESE burgers the best in America?
Travioso says they "...searched coast to coast to find America's best burger. The list includes everything from fast food & street food, to fine dining & gourmet cuisine." So just which Minnesota restaurants made the list? Give it up for Hazelwood Food and Drink in Bloomington, Borough in Minneapolis, and Matt's Bar in Minneapolis, the three Minnesota entries on Trivioso's 50 Best Burgers in America list.
At Hazelwood Food and Drink in Bloomington, Trivioso specifically liked the burger with cheese curds, blackberry jam, and candied bacon, as well as the cowboy burger, which they say is smothered with barbecue sauce and topped with smoked bacon and crispy onion strings.
Meanwhile, over at Borough in Minneapolis, Travioso really liked their Parlour Burger, which is made with a mixture of ribeye, brisket, and ground chuck and comes with an egg on it. I've had it, and, yeah, it's amazingly good.
And finally, Trivioso included Matt's Bar on their list because of its claim to fame: it created the Jucy Lucy. (Sure, there's that dispute with the 5-8 Club, who ALSO claims they invented the iconic Minnesota burger) I've also had a genuine Jucy Lucy at Matt's Bar and, it IS something every Minnesotan needs to experience at least once.
Now while those three restaurants are still in business (and serving up some amazing burgers), sadly, not all our favorites are still with us. Keep scrolling to check out a list of some of the Rochester restaurants and stores that aren't around anymore-- even though we wish they still were!
