My brother was the most accident-prone individual as a kid.  And when I say "accident-prone", I mean, ER worthy...drops of blood down the hallway...type of situations.

What made it even better was that these accidents all happened in the 90s - when no one had cell phones.  Not only did I walk into a house with blood in various spots, but no one was around and because of the seriousness of the accidents, no one had time to leave a note.

Most people would have freaked out if they walked into a scene like this.  If you saw the number of scars my brother had from all of his accidents, you would have realized that it was just him...again...getting hurt.

1.  Acne Scars

Most of us have had a pimple or two show up on our bodies.  For about 15 to 20% of teens, the acne that they have to fight is moderate to severe.  The estimate is that over 5 million teenages in the United States are in that category and the acne is so bad that scarring can potentially happen.

2.  Surgical Scars

These are extremely common thanks to procedures like C-sections, appendectomies, or orthopedic surgeries.  When I had my gallbladder taken out a few years ago, I got a few holes poked in my abdomen area that left their marks for eternity.

3. Stretch Marks (aka stiae)

According to the American Academy of Dermatology Association, these types of scars show up when our skin ends up stretching and then shrinking quickly.  This can tend to happen during growth spurts, and pregnacies.

4.  Hypertrophic Scars & Keloids

According to MedicinePlus, these types of scars are common after burns, acne, piercings, surgery, and injries.  This type of scarring happens about 39 to 68% of the time with surgical wounds.

5.  Burn and Injury Scars

The Cleveland Clinic stated that this type of scar is very common from accidents, sports injuries, cuts, burns, and injuries during childhood.
