Traffic On Highway 16 Detoured Near Spring Valley

The Minnesota Department of Transportation is detouring traffic on Highway 16 from Spring Valley to Dexter as crews resurface the road.

Highway 16 traffic will be detoured during culvert replacements, which is estimated to take eight weeks. The detour from Highway 16 to Fillmore County Road 8 to Mower Country Road 2 to Mower County Road 7. During the paving, motorist will encounter single-lane traffic on Highway 16, while Highway 63 will remain open to local businesses.

Crews will replace three box culverts and five pipe culverts during the Highway 16 project, which is expected to cost $7.5 million. The project should be wrapped up by August of 2019.
