Wabasha, MN (KROC-AM News) - A trial date has been set in the case of a Wabasha County man who was involved in a fatal traffic crash last fall.

35-year-old Joshua Hansen of rural Kellogg is facing three felony charges, including third degree murder, in connection with the death of 34-year-old Christopher Nelson. The Eyota man was killed on October 3rd when his motorcycle collided, head-on, with an SUV driven by Hansen.

At the time of his arrest, the Minnesota State Patrol reported Hansen spit in the face of the arresting officer.

It’s also suspected he had been involved in a hit-and-run that occurred in Elgin just before the deadly crash on Highway 42, and there were reports that his SUV was seen driving through a cornfield in the Plainview area.

Hansen recently entered not guilty pleas to the charges in Wabasha County Court and the judge assigned to the case scheduled his trial to begin on April 10th.
