Stewartville, MN (KROC-AM News) -- There has been a another fatal traffic crash near Stewartville.

Strong winds created slippery sections on highways throughout southeastern Minnesota late Thursday morning and that apparently contributed to a deadly collision on Highway 63 just south of Stewartville around 12 noon. The State Patrol’s initial report on the incident indicates the driver of a southbound semi-truck lost control and slid into the northbound lane, where the semi collided with a pickup truck.

The crash occurred less than 24 hours after a 21-year-old Rochester man was killed in a single vehicle crash on I-90 a couple miles east of the Highway 63 interchange. The State Patrol says Samuel Becker was driving east on the freeway when his car when into the south ditch and rolled multiple times. The crash, which remains under investigation, was reported around 3 p.m.

The State Patrol is also investigating a deadly incident that occurred Wednesday night in western Minnesota. Officials say a 71-year-old Spicer woman and her 70-year-old husband were killed after they were involved in a collision with a another vehicle at an intersection along Highway 23 near Spicer around 7:30 p.m.

The State Patrol report indicates Glenyce Gulbranson was in the median of the highway talking with the driver of the other vehicle when her husband began to get out of their vehicle. That's when she and Marvin Gulbranson were both struck by a third vehicle and suffered fatal injuries.
