ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Two former officials at a St. Paul school are charged with failing to report a custodian's alleged sexual misconduct against a student.

Beth Behnke was principal and Craig Guidry was assistant principal at Linwood Monroe Arts Plus School.

Behnke and Guidry are both charged with one count each of misdemeanor failure to report the maltreatment of minors.

The two are accused of failing to report a 2011 incident in which custodian Walter Happel allegedly followed a boy into a bathroom.

In February, another student told staff that Happel peeked at him in a bathroom stall. That led to a review of how the district handled earlier allegations against Happel.

A district spokeswoman told the Star Tribune the district had not seen the charges, and could not comment.
