Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News) - The University of Minnesota has released redacted documents that detail the sexual harassment claims that led to the surprise resignation of Athletic Director Norwood Teague Friday morning.

Officials say the alleged harassment involved two female U of M employees and occurred at a recent University event.

One of the women described an interaction with Teague that started out with some flirtatious text messages concerning a friend of the woman, whom she suggested Teague might be interested in dating. She reported the interaction soon transitioned into unwanted physical contact and propositions that included sexually explicit text messages.

The other woman reported Teague pestered her with inappropriate questions concerning her boyfriend and engaged in unwanted physical contact by rubbing her shoulders and poking her in the side.

In announcing his resignation, Teague acknowledged sending inappropriate text messages after having too much to drink. He also apologized for his actions and indicated he would be seeking help for his alcohol problems.

University of Minnesota President Eric Kaler held a news conference Friday afternoon to discuss Teague’s resignation. He said sexual harassment would not be tolerated at the U of M, and noted Teague would not receive a severance package. Kaler also announced that Beth Goetz, the University’s Deputy Athletics Director, has been named the interim AD until a permanent successor is hired.
