Winona, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Minnesota State Patrol is reporting two fatal traffic crashes occurred in Minnesota yesterday. One of the fatalities involved a multiple vehicle crash near the site of a four-vehicle crash on Tuesday that claimed the life of a motorcyclist. The other was reported on Highway 61 in Winona.

The victim of the crash in Winona was a 63-year-old man from Beaumont Texas. The State Patrol says he was alone in a car traveling south on Highway 61 when it left the roadway, crossed a service road, and smashed into an unoccupied car in a parking lot. The State Patrol says the vehicle then crossed another street and entered another parking lot where it smashed into 3 additional vehicles. The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from his vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene shortly before 2 PM.

The other fatal crash was reported around 5:20 PM along Highway 95 in Chisago County. The State Patrol says 56-year-old David Winberg of North Branch was a passenger in a car that was rear-ended by another car and pushed into the path of a third car traveling in the other direction.
