Rochester, MN (KROC AM News)  - A man wanted for a recent domestic assault in Fillmore County was apprehended Saturday - one day after authorities asked the public’s assistance in locating him.

A warrant was issued in June for the arrest of  43 year old Tracy James Sailor. Both the Olmsted and Fillmore County Sheriff’s departments issued the public alert Friday morning. He was taken into custody without incident by Olmsted County deputies around 11:15 a.m. Saturday.

A spokesman for the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Department says a tip from the public led to his arrest at an apartment in Chatfield. The spokesman says the residence was rented by a female acquaintance. It’s not known if she will face charges. The apartment is located in the Olmsted County portion of Chatfield.

The tip came from a person who spotted one of the cars identified in the alert as a vehicle Sailor may be using. Sailor was taken to the Olmsted County jail at the request of the Fillmore County Sheriff.

Sailor was sentenced to prison in 2000 for his role in the murder of a Faribault teenager and was just recently released.
