Just what type of events would you like to see take place at Mayo Civic Center here in Rochester? That's the question local tourism leaders are asking in a new survey.

After a tough year in 2020 where just about every event where a crowd could gather was canceled, Experience Rochester (the group that used to be known as the Convention and Visitors Corporation) is looking forward to things FINALLY getting back to normal later in 2021. And they want to know what YOU want to see at Mayo Civic Center.

After all, they're the group that is in charge of convention sales, destination marketing, entertainment bookings, events, and the overall visitor experience here in Rochester. And they just launched a new survey that is looking for community input on live entertainment programs and offerings at Mayo Civic Center.

"In an ongoing effort to elevate our live entertainment offerings, this survey will serve as a resource for our team in booking entertainers, negotiating with promoters, and increasing ticket sales," Joe Ward, president of Experience Rochester/Mayo Civic Center said in an emailed release.

I think a few concerts at Mayo Civic Center featuring some country artists would be a GREAT idea here in Rochester, right? While Trace Adkins played Presentation Hall at Mayo Civic Center last February (right before the pandemic hit), it's been a while since any country act performed in the larger Taylor Arena.

I'm not positive, but I think you have to go back to December of 2014 when Little Big Town (along with Brett Eldredge) played a show at Mayo Civic Center as part of their Pain Killer Tour. Billy Currington (along with Chase Rice and Brett Eldredge...again!) also played at Mayo Civic Center but that was in the auditorium, back on March 22nd of 2014.

So what would kind of events would YOU like to see Mayo Civic Center host? Click HERE to take the Experience Rochester survey. It's online now through March 15th, and should only take you about 5 minutes to fill out, and responses will remain anonymous.

While there have been many famous singers, comedians and other performers take the stage at Mayo Civic Center since it first opened back in 1939, are you aware of some of the celebrities who went to high school here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes? Keep scrolling to see who they are!
