Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Hope it didn’t break your heart - the winter storm many thought would blast the Rochester area Saturday had other ideas.

The storm merely sideswiped southeast Minnesota, dropping a few inches of snow at the most.

Heavier snow fell in the Twin Cities with 4-6 inches reported in many areas.

The snow tapered off in the Rochester area around 9:00 PM Saturday and the official total at the city airport was 2 inches. So far this month, the city has received about 7 inches. The season total is three feet, a few inches below normal.

A lot of this snow may disappear this week as warmer weather is in the forecast for the final days of February. Highs are expected to be around 40 Monday - Wednesday.
