Hundreds of people gathered in Winona on Saturday to honor the legacy of former mayor, John Latsch (1905-1907).  Mr Latsch was a wholesale grocer who donated more than 18,000 acres of land in Minnesota and Wisconsin for public use.  He was also known for his fine collection of bow ties.

Many folks met on the steps at Levee Park to attempt a world record of "most bow ties tied simultaneously".  The previous record was 850, but sadly after the group photograph was taken, only 648 were counted.
