This week started with some super sad news but I'm so thrilled about the latest Rochester, Minnesota gossip that I stumbled on. It is big! REALLY big!
First, The Sad News That Hit Rochester, Minnesota This Week
If you missed it, the sad news that Rochester heard about started on Monday. I was sitting at work when a few fans reached out asking if I could find out if Roasted Bliss - Coffee and Bakery was ok. They saw that Google indicated that it was permanently closed.
Sadly, the news was official Tuesday morning and the bakery in the old Daube's location is done firing up the ovens.

And Now, The Good News That Just Showed Up in Rochester, Minnesota
I hang out on Facebook probably too much - I'll fully admit that - but during my time hanging out with my online friends, I got a notification that put a smile on my face. One of the pages that I follow posted a new photo. Normally this isn't a big deal. Everyone posts photos all the time. This page though is a business that closed in Rochester.
I immediately got curious and started Googling. Nothing. If I would have just been a little bit more patient, the answers would have popped up in front of me because the page was being transformed as I was sitting in my recliner...watching it and hitting refresh. Some call that lazy. I call that perfect timing.
New Restaurant Opening Soon in Rochester, Minnesota!
Remember that awesome restaurant in downtown Rochester called Hefe Rojo? Now, an amazing Korean restaurant known as Bebap Korean Eats is cooking up delicious food for everyone...and people are loving this new place! Well, Hefe Rojo is the place that just made a few tweaks to their Facebook page.
Just after 10:00 pm on Wednesday, January 10th, Hefe Rojo added a photo of a person's head covered by a gigantic burrito with the words "Big Head Burrito".
About the same time, I saw this notification pop up.
Where Is Big Head Burrito Opening in Rochester, Minnesota?
The location of the new place, Big Head Burrito, is listed as 308 1st Ave. NW in Rochester, which some were speculating on the page that it might be Tilda's. Tilda's does have some connections to the group that owned Hefe Rojo but that isn't the location. Nope, that address is the little building on the corner right next to Tilda's and Redwood Room.
I was in my pj's and ready for bed when I saw the notification pop up so I haven't driven by yet to confirm but I did see that a permit was filed with the City of Rochester back in October for the following:
Add GFCI outlets for new food prep equipment, replace existing lights with new LED lights
I did see that a permit was filed for signage as well but that was about all the info I could get from that application.
When is Big Head Burrito Opening Up in Rochester, Minnesota?
The only info I have at the moment is what was updated on the Facebook page. In their intro it states the following good news:
Burritos as big as your head
Coming March 2024!
Everything that I see points to the location above in Rochester as the new spot for Big Head Burritos. Hopefully, my investigation tonight is correct but I did reach out to the person listed as the contact to learn more.
