On March 12th, at 7 PM, the Rochester Civil War Round Table will feature Lanny Witter presenting " Civil War Contraband ". During the Civil War, Congress had determined that escaped slaves would not be returned to slave holders. Mr. Witter will explain the origination of the term contraband, contraband camps, the roll of contrabands in the Union Army and closer to home the roll of contrabands in Minnesota history. The program will be at the History Center of Olmsted County, which is located at 1195 W. Circle Dr. SW, Rochester. The public is invited.
