Though he retired from Leinenkugel's a few years ago, he's going back to work with the Trump administration. Last Friday, Jake, who ran Leinenkugel Brewing for many years, was sworn in as a senior White house advisor to the Dept. of Veterans Affairs.

There hasn't been an official announcement yet but it's expected as soon as Trump's choice (David Shulkin) to head up the Dept. of Veterans Affairs is confirmed.

I've spent a lot of time with Jake over the years at remotes, Rock Fest(s), events in Wisconsin, etc. and you won't find a nicer guy. My very first remote I did with him, I was kind of intimidated by him but he made it very comfortable. Fast forward a year later, we're in a crowd of people and I hear someone call my name. I turn around and see it was Jake. Damn! he remembered my name. We had a nice conversation about beer (of course) and even got invited back to his motor home with he and his wife to partake in a few more beers and just hang out.

I got to know Jake and his brothers over the years and you're not going to find a nicer family and I'm sure Jake will do amazing things for our veterans.
