It was one of the biggest and most dramatic upsets in Olympic history and it happened 36 years ago today!

The XIII Winter Games in Lake Placid, NY captured the nation's attention. The Soviet Olympic Hockey Team had not lost since 1968. Very few expected the US Olympic Hockey Team to win. It was like Rocky Balboa facing Ivan Drago in Rocky IV. It was like Rocky finding his Eye of the Tiger and facing Clubber Lang in Rocky III. It was like Rocky facing Apollo Creed in both Rocky's I and II.

In other words it was Batman VS. Superman.

The US Hockey Team defeated the Soviets 4 - 3. Two days later, they beat Finland 4 - 2.

The late Herb Brooks was coach. The amazing story was turned into the film Miracle, with Kurt Russell (who's going to be playing Chris Pratt's father in Guardians of the Galaxy 2) playing the legendary coach.

Maybe you remember this speech from the film.

Do you remember the Miracle on Ice? It's one of those "Do you remember where you were and what you were doing?" moments  It's been compared to the Apollo Moon landing as a major event. So, where were you and what were you doing?
