Moorhead, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating a single vehicle crash late Saturday night that claimed the lives of two Fargo area teenagers.

The patrol says the deadly crash occurred shortly after 10pm on westbound I-94 a few miles southeast of Moorhead. The driver, 18-year-old Danie Thomssen of Fargo, lost control of her car on the icy roadway and it slid into a median guardrail.

She, and one of her passengers, 19-year-old Dennis Roney of nearby Oakes, North Dakota, were pronounced dead at the scene. A second passenger, an 18-year-old woman from Oakes, was transported to a hospital in Fargo with non-life threatening injuries.

The State Patrol report indicates the three teenagers were wearing seatbelts and alcohol was not involved in the crash.
