Tell Me More About the Rochester Salvation Army Cooling Center
If you are needing a place to cool off or know someone who could use assistance, the Salvation Army Cooling Center is open from 8 am until 4 pm at 115 First Avenue NE in Rochester, Minnesota.
“In the winter time, we worry about people being exposed to long periods of cold, but heat can be just as dangerous. If people have nowhere to go, they can suffer from heat stroke, sun burns, and dehydration.” The Salvation Army encourages any visitors to the cooling center to see our social workers for help with their other basic needs. - Major Lisa Mueller, Corps Officer of the Rochester Salvation Army
Services provided at the Cooling Center in Rochester, Minnesota
The following services and amenities are available and waiting at the Cooling Center in Rochester:
- water bottles are always available to all,
- public restrooms,
- and an air-conditioned day center. (This area can serve 150 people at a time and a daily meal is also provided from 11:30 am until 12:30 pm.)
