Over 60,000 Cigarette Butts Were Found on the Streets in Downtown Rochester
You are never going to guess how many COVID-19 masks and cigarette butts were picked up in downtown Rochester, Minnesota in the last 365 days! But, it was counted and thanks to the Clean and Safe Ambassador Program, they were taken off our streets and disposed of properly.

How is the Clean and Safe Ambassador Program in Rochester funded?
According to the press release from the Rochester Downtown Alliance, this program is funded by the City of Rochester, Mayo Clinic, and the downtown Rochester special service district members. You can learn more about the program and funding here.
“The Clean and Safe Ambassadors have allowed the Rochester Downtown Alliance to create and maintain more public amenities, welcome folks to our community, and increase communications with our downtown businesses. This program has become a vital piece in how we are building an inviting downtown community,” Karli McElroy, RDA director of operations.
