Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A celebrated Rochester tradition takes place this weekend at the Mayo Civic Center.

It’s again time for the annual Rochester Eagles Cancer Telethon. This marks the 65th year the popular fundraiser for cancer research will be broadcast on KTTC-TV. It begins at 8 o’clock this evening and runs through 4 PM Sunday. Dozens of talented people from southeastern Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin will be performing before a live audience from the stages set up in the Mayo Civic Auditorium for the marathon broadcast, which is the longest running local telethon in the nation.

Donations presented or pledged during the telethon or raised last year totaled over $900,000, which was directed to cancer research at the Mayo Clinic, the Hormel Institute, and the University of Minnesota.

If you're not able to view a TV for the marathon, you can catch it here.
